Retail Marketing Lead to Global Agency, H&M Marketing & Communications

 


Marketing & Communication is a global department that consists of 450 employees at the Head Office in Stockholm and support all 73 markets around the world. Our department has the strategic and operational responsibility to build the H&M brand, internally and externally when it comes to brand awareness, attraction and loyalty. We drive change and we make sure that H&M’s communication is customer oriented, relevant and aligned with our brand DNA. 

Marketing & Communication work in a task based organizational setup and are now looking for an experienced Retail Marketing Lead to build a new strong team within the global agency. The global agency is responsible for all global content creation and bringing stories to life through engaging ideas, using multiple channels. You will report to Head of Agency and be part of the Agency leadership team.

What you will do:

 

As a Retail Marketing lead you are responsible for translating our brand and business strategies to retail marketing short and long-term plans. Your assignment will include identifying a suggested set up of a strategic and creative retail marketing team to meet our present and future needs.  Your core focus will be to lead H&M communication in all windows and stores on a global level (+5000 stores) as well as pacing our developments for future concepts and omni-marketing needs.  Together with colleagues you will set the plans and activations based on the brand and business goals.

This is a highly strategic leader role that truly acts as a role model for the H&M values. Your responsibilities as a Retail Marketing Lead will include, but are not limited to: 

  • Take an active visionary and strategic role in H&M within the field of global retail marketing including omni marketing.

  • Lead, engage and empower global marketing in store and omni marketing with clear vision, purpose and goals

  • Be part of cross-collaborative marketing streams and represent global marketing with store and omni focus

  • Drive and develop ways of working to enable world class solutions with colleagues

  • Brief colleagues on key activities and lead creative teams (internal and external)

  • Build and nurture strategic 3rd party relationships

  • Build annual budget applying a cost conscious and entrepreneurial mindset

  • Ensure and follow legal requirements and H&M policies

  • Develop future team plans and organization of direct reports

  • Plan and perform salary reviews

  • You will also ensure a sustainable workplace and positive environment for your team and encourage problem solving and a culture of shared ideas and goals.

We believe that you are an experienced creative marketing leader with agency or marketing department experience. Preferably you are used to working in a matrix organization in a cross-collaborative way. You have worked with strong international iconic brands. You understand brand strategy, brand experience, store marketing and the connection with other marketing and sales activities. You have a holistic mindset and focus. You proactively involve and co-create with different stakeholders in a customer-centric approach and believe that diversity increases the quality of decisions.

In order to be a successful in the role we also believe you have: 

  • 8+ years’ experience from an equivalent role within strategic leadership from agency or client side

  • Experience from highly strategic and creative store communication projects

  • Understanding of multi-channel communications including e-com and social media.

  • Experience from professional client relationship management or in marketing leadership roles

  • Ability to formulate a vision & strategy and developing teams

  • Aptitude in decision-making, problem-solving and structure

  • Able to plan, create a clear structure and foresee opportunities

  • Solid strategic understanding of all disciplines within Marketing & Communications as well as knowledge of the Retail & Marketing landscape and trends

  • Experience and ability to inspire and lead teams with creative tasks

  • Ability to help operational teams with prioritization and empowered decision making
